Kevin Welch
Kevin Welch has become known as an artist who masterfully weaves together rock, country, and folk influences to deliver his own brand of music that seems to defy categorization. As a songwriter and performer, Welch mesmerizes the listener with carefully crafted images and a superb delivery. Rolling Stone hailed Welch as one of the best songwriters in America, and The Connection called him the Hemmingway of songwriters.
Welch has released four albums, starting in 1990 with two critically acclaimed albums on Warner/Reprise. Then he teamed up with fellow musicians and formed his own label, Dead Reckoning Records in 1995. The new label allowed Kevin more creative freedom and his CD, Life Down Here On Earth, powerfully showcased his ability to write songs of uncommon insight and depth. The impact of Kevins music is far reaching with his record being taking into space where the title track was used to wake up the shuttle astronauts, and Dr. Phil used Kevins lyrics to start a chapter in his book Self Matters: Theres gonna be two dates on your tombstone, all your friends will read em. But all thats gonna matter is the little dash between em.

Kevin's latest CD, You Can't Save Everybody with fellow Dead Reckoners Kieran Kane and Fats Kaplin, is a warm record that truly captures the feeling of close friends playing music in an intimate setting. Welch and Kane trade songs and back each other up, while Fats adds color to the mix in a record destined to become a favorite for any Dead Reckoning fan.
